Taking its name from Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, the well known company Nike Inc. was originally known as Blue Ribbon Sports and was created in 1964 by University of Oregon track athlete Phil Knight and his coach Bill Bowerman.
As a company they proved massively successful and by 1980, Nike had reached a 50% market share in the United States athletic shoe market. As to be expected from a company who have a basis within sports and track events, timing is a natural part of performing and as such "Nike Timing" offers a range of sports watches with multiple functions, ranging from proffessional diving watches to accurate heart rate data analysis."
